Shake-It-For-Shara is a Dance-a-thon fundraiser in honor of Shara Himmel, a Camp Kadima camper and beloved member of the Pinellas Jewish Community. Known for her unwilting optimism and boundless joy, Shara was a vibrant member of Temple B'Nai Israel and the Congregation Beth Shalom before her tragic passing in 2007. The JCC Suncoast instituted the Shake-It-For-Shara Dance-a-thon to raise funds for Camp Kadima scholarships for children in need who share Shara's zeal, optimism, and care for children. Taking part in this vital fundraiser is both an honor, and a wonderfully good time; the perfect way to remember Shara Himmel. Although she is deeply missed, her memory lives on in the smiles of children today, and we are humbled to host this event.
